First Blog Jitters

I have no idea how to start this blog. I'm doing Team in Training! (there's a start). For all of you who don't know what TINT is, it's the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's "charity sports training program". In sum, you get training and do an event while pledging to raise a certain amount of money for LLS. For more information visit teamintraining.org.

It's the reason I started this blog, to help me fundraise. And for moral support. I signed up to complete the Half-Iron Man Big Kahuna this fall and raise $4,200 along the way. Yikes! I have more faith in my ability to train than I do in raising the money. Any ideas on how to help raise money would be greatly appreciated. Right now I've decided to find people who need help with yard work and ask for suggested donations. We'll see how that goes. :S

A little bit about myself: I'm in my early twenties, moved to Seattle in the fall 2009, and am looking to meet more people. Finding more connections is my second motive for doing TINT. I've found as much as I love my dog, she won't start conversations with me. Or participate in them if I start them. I'm stoked for summer, my favorite season, and looking forward to gardening and growing veggies.

So that's all I've got for now (well that and my lunch break is almost over). I hope you'll keep reading the upcoming posts, I'm sure they'll get better!

If you'd like to make a donation for my cause visit:

I currently have raised 0 dollars, you could be the first! It's a great way to support research finding a cure to cancer!

Thanks for reading! -Katie
